Woman of Valor
Eishet Chayil
$54.00
The words of Eishet Chayil, Proverbs 31 Woman of Valor, speak to the feminine spirit and its strength and wisdom.
Each verse of this beautiful poem begins with a different letter of the Hebrew alef-bet. Just as each Hebrew letter carries its own form and composition, I couldn’t help but think of all the women of valor I know in my life as I painted… if asked if they would describe themselves as such, they would most likely say no, but I see these verses lived out in all my beautiful friends and family. I think as women we all knit a beautiful tapestry of feminine virtues that together create the woman of valor.
It seemed fitting for this painting to showcase the wild peony (Hebrew: אדמונית החורש), a rare treasure that only blooms in one area in Israel, in the Mount Meron reserve.
