April Margot Townsley is a watercolor and stained glass artist. Her faith and Jewish heritage, along with her upbringing in the Republic of Panama, have deeply shaped her as an artist.
Growing up in Panama, she was surrounded by the natural beauty of God’s creation. Her mother’s love for art and nature also influenced her early on. Her artistic passion was reignited when she became a mom. Teaching her son to love art, she found that art became her way to connect with God’s Word. During that time, she also became more aware of her Jewish roots, discovering that her ancestors fled the Spanish Inquisition as secret Jews.
Now, her art reflects her Judaism and her love for the people and land of Israel. April currently works from her Dallas home studio and is a member of the Southwest Watercolor Society and the Texas Jewish Arts Association. She also continues to teach art to children. Her unique works are vibrant and colorful, filled with meaningful faith connections.
